Juan Onofri Barbato
Juan Onofri Barbato was born in 1983 in Rio Negro, Argentina. He lives and produces in Buenos Aires. He works as a choreographer and teacher with amateur and professional artists in research, training and creation projects where they think, provoke and distort the limits of dance. Has created with them: FYZ, Tualet, Los trompos, Estado de Tráfico, Caravana, Los posibles, Duramadre. The last two shows with the KM29 group, with whom he works since 2010. His projects received grants, scholarships, residences, national and international awards. He was a finalist for the Rolex Mentor & Protégé Art Initiative 2018 program, for the mentoring of Crystal Pite. He won the subsidy for the purchase and refurbishment for an Independent Theater by the Instituto Nacional del Teatro in 2017.
