Saara Turunen is a laureate and internationally recognized writer, playwright and director from Finland. His works The Bunny Girl and The Broken Heart Story have been international successful, being translated into dozens of languages and presented in countries around the world. Turunen is known for her direct and daring style. Her works usually deal with topics such as art , gender and femininity. In addition to her work in theater, Turunen is the writer of two novels, Love / Monster and The Bystander. Her first novel won the literary prize of Helsingin Sanomat in 2015. Turunen was also awarded in 2016 with the prestigious Finnish prize, awarded annually by the Finnish Ministry of Culture and Education.
